OCTBOOBERFEST – the Annual Tassel Twirl Championship

Octbooberfest is Stockholm Burlesque Festival´s cancer research fundraiser gala for the Pink Ribbon Campaign. It is also a Championship in the fine art of Tassel twirling!

The goal is to collect money for the Pink Ribbon campaign during the month of October. Our main event is the the annual Octbooberfest – taking place at the Saturday Spectacular festival night 5th of October 2013.
The Tassel Champion is the last man/woman standing tassling in a heat of 11 tasslers. Awards will also be given to best costume and best execution/tasseling skills.

Our international board of Judges are: glamourous burlesque queen Banbury Cross (UK), New York burlesque superstar Minie Tonka (US) and Swedish fashion designer, as well as “Project Runway” winner Naim Josefi.

As burlesque performers, our boobs are very important to us (naturally!) and cancer is a horrible disease we all need to chip in to help build awareness and fund research. This is a wonderful way for the Swedish and international burlesque scene to do something for this good and important call!

The initiator of Octbooberfest was the Swedish burlesque personality Duchess Dubois and the Amazing Knicker Kittens back in 2008.
